We called Shafer Services to have a plumber come by to check on our water heater. The water was just lukewarm, wasn’t getting hot. The service tech, Ismael P., arrived as scheduled on Tuesday (6 Sep) morning. He was super! He investigated the situation and asked us several questions about the water heater. To make a long story short, the water heater was fine, but the thermostat had been set too low. It is now set just past the “A” position (around 130 degrees) and is working just fine. As a precaution, Ismael also checked each of our single-type faucets to see if there was any cold water crossover occurring. The faucets were fine. Ismael spent a good deal of time with us checking things out and discussing things. He was courteous, pleasant, and informative. Since we are on the service plan with Shafer Services, the cost for this visit was just $24. And it looks like our water heater will be good for several more years.
