Serving South Texas Program

Our Serving South Texas mindset has been a part of our DNA from the beginning. Until recently, we let it ride in the back of our minds until Hurricane Harvey hit our friends and neighbors.

When we called for donations, we had an overwhelming response from our entire team. For example, Jason McClanahan, an AC tech, spearheaded our efforts to help our coastal friends and families. Jason and his wife loaded their SUV to the top and headed off to Rockport & Port Aransas, TX with some much-needed supplies.

This effort started a giant chain reaction that has now grown to a company-wide movement we call Shafer Serving South Texas.

In the final 3 months of 2017, the Shafer team showed their true spirit as they joined together Serving South Texas. We encouraged each team member to collect hugs as they find opportunities to volunteer and support our community. Our team members' kind deeds and volunteer photos remain posted on the wall in the team training room.

Making an impact in South Texas in these 3 short months, 32 Shafer Services team members collected 16 Hugs and performed 45 Kind Deeds. Together with their family members, they gave a total of 417.5 hours of their time serving our community. This is what we call Serving South Texas—Shafer Style!

In the spirit of community and improving lives, our team members are dedicated to "Serving South Texas." Our volunteer efforts are ongoing as we look for ways to give of our time and outreach to helping others. Some of our regular opportunities include events and happening with:
