This past Saturday, Shafer Services showed their support of the Towne & Country Optimist Baseball & Softball Little League of San Antonio, Texas as part of their “Shafer Cool Kids” sponsorship program!
The Towne & Country Optimist Baseball & Softball Little League, based in the Olmos Park suburb, is a nonprofit youth sports organization that supports athletes ages 4-15 in a co-ed “premier little league organization focused on Child Development, Team Building and overall Motor Skills”. Though the league is the smallest, it is also the oldest league in San Antonio. Shafer Services’ sponsorship will help the league acquire lighting for the field, allowing for evening games.
In addition to financial sponsorship, several Shafer staff members attended the event on Saturday to show their support. According to Samantha, our Membership Coordinator, the event gave her “a sense of nostalgia” as she grew up playing softball herself. She said one of her favorite parts was seeing the kids run onto the field as the announcements were made.
“I heard it’s one of the oldest Little Leagues in San Antonio – it’s awesome to be part of a company that wants to support them” she continued.
Also in attendance (see below; far right) was Chase Anderson, Shafer Services President/CEO. The Shafer Services team is committed to investing in the community, and helping the Towne & Country Optimist Baseball & Softball League be a safe family environment for years to come.
